Truncating of coordinates and increase in image size opening older version

I posted this for Beta 1 (and applies to 2 as well) but in the wrong section so I’m duplicating it - sorry …

As always, thanks for all the hard work you put in on PurplePen. I can’t help with Linux or Mac testing but I did briefly play with the windows version. I opened a previously produced rather basic course with the beta then did a compare on the original and beta text file and saw three things of interest:

Firstly, with the beta all decimal numbers (such as x,y coordinates) are rounded to 8 digits total . Example:

Original
<location x="-282.09024" y="77.6384659" />
<location x="-289.936249" y="93.673645" />
<location x="-306.120728" y="87.274826" />

Beta
 <location x="-282.09024" y="77.638466" />
 <location x="-289.93625" y="93.673645" />
 <location x="-306.12073" y="87.274826" />

I can’t actually see this making any difference but I’m noting it in case it was not intended.

Secondly, the event included a small image. When I saved this with the Beta the file size increased from 19 to 31 KB and when checking the text the image code portion was substantially larger. I tested this with another that I added a couple of new images on and the same result with - much more data in the file. Adding two images to the original example from the Beta increased the size to 304Kb opposed to doing it in the older version that went to 304KB. Again this may be an intended change. I can see an event files with a bunch of images growing much larger than currently, however they are still not really large!

The change in the coordinate numbers is more or less expected.

I’ll take a look at the size of image issue some time. It shouldn’t cause any significant problems but I’m not exactly certain why or if there is something I can do about it. The image handling had to change significantly to use some different libraries so it isn’t completely surprising.
